How to run a client job in 1stNet
A step-by-step how-to for the verified workspace path: Company → Contact → Deal → Project → Task → Time → Invoice → manual payment → Reports. Company → Contact → Deal → Project → Task → Time → Invoice → manual payment → Reports.
This guide documents a path that was walked end-to-end in a sandbox workspace. Each step uses the labels you will see in the 1stNet Platform. It does not claim conversion rates, time saved, or live card capture.
Company → Contact → Deal → Project → Task → Time → Invoice → manual payment → Reports
- 01
Create a company
Companies / Clients·New company
Open Companies (or Clients) and click New company. Enter a Company name and save. The Clients list treats this company as the client — there is no separate Client record to create.
- Company name (required)
- Industry, size, website, email, phone, city, country (optional)
- Status (Lead / Active / Inactive)
- 02
Add a contact
Contacts·New contact

- First name, Last name (required)
- Company (link the company you just created)
- Email, phone, job title (optional)
- 03
Open a deal on the pipeline
Pipeline·New deal
Open Pipeline and click New deal. Give the deal a title, link the company and contact, set a value and stage, then save. The card appears on the pipeline board.
- Deal title (required)
- Company and contact
- Value and stage
- 04
Start a project
Projects·New project
Open Projects and click New project. Enter a Project name and set Client / Company to the company from step 1. Save. Projects link to a company; they do not auto-link to the deal.
- Project name (required)
- Client / Company
- Status, budget type, dates (optional)
- 05
Add a task
Tasks·New task
Open Tasks and click New task. Enter a Title and set Project to the project from step 4. Save. You can also add a task from the project itself.

- Date
- Hours and Minutes
- Billable (on by default)
- 07
Create an invoice with line items
Invoices·New invoice

- Client
- Project (optional)
- Line items: description, qty, unit price, tax %
- Create invoice
- 08
Record a manual payment
Payments·Record payment
On the invoice, or from Payments, click Record payment. Confirm the invoice and amount. Leave Payment method as Manual (or choose bank transfer). Click Save payment. When the recorded amount covers the balance, the invoice status is Paid.
- Invoice
- Amount
- Payment method (Manual is the verified path)
- Save payment
- 09
Check Reports
Reports·Open Reports
Open Reports. Revenue, pipeline, time, and expense figures update from the records you created. This is a read of workspace totals — not a forecast of win rate or cash collected by card.
- Revenue from paid invoices
- Pipeline from open deals
- Time from logged entries
- Expenses if you recorded any
What this path does not cover
Honest scope so a demo or onboarding session stays aligned with what was verified.
- Proposals and estimates
- Proposal and estimate line items persist after save. You can convert an estimate (or proposal) to an invoice from the document; that opens New invoice with the source lines copied across. Sending, e-sign, and view-tracking are outside this verified path.
- Messages
- Messages includes New message so you can start an in-app thread with a company. Gmail and Resend are not required for that draft thread. Delivering mail through a connected inbox is not part of this path.
- Card payments (Stripe)
- Connecting Stripe and collecting a card was not verified in the sandbox pass. The path above uses Record payment with method Manual.
- Client portal, forms, and automations
- Portal invites, publishing a form to a public URL, and running an automation were not part of the verified walkthrough. Those modules are in the workspace; treat them as separate setup steps.
- Resourcing vs time
- Resourcing is a planning board. Logging time on Time Tracking does not create resource allocations.
- Plan names
- Customer-facing labels match public pricing. Workspace keys stay starter, growth, and scale (default growth): starter is Starter (£15/user/month), growth is Professional (£29/user/month; previously labelled Growth Plan in the app), and scale is Business (£49/user/month). Free Tools and Enterprise are public-only and are not CRM workspace plans. Settings shows this mapping.
